Holy Baptism is one of the two great sacraments of the church instituted by our Lord, Jesus Christ. Through water and the Holy Spirit, it is a full initiation into the body of Christ, which is the Church. Normally, baptisms are scheduled during public worship times. Please notify the church office at least one month prior to your planned date. Emergency baptisms may be performed by any baptized person by baptizing with water, and using the following, “(Name), I baptize you in the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit.”
Christian marriage is a sacramental rite of the church. It is intended to be a lifelong union of heart, body, and mind. Please contact the church office at the earliest to allow ample time for preparation. We do perform same gender weddings. We require that, at a minimum, one of the couple be a member of the church and that the couple receive pre-marital counseling.
WHEN LOVED ONES PASS AWAY
During the very difficult and painful time when a loved one passes away, families should contact the Clergy as soon as possible to schedule funeral arrangements. We are here to support you. Funerals are generally held in the church unless there are special circumstances.
INTERNMENT IN THE COLUMBARIUM
Cremation is an accepted practice of the Church. The church offers a Columbarium, which is Latin for “Dove Cote.” Each internment niche inside the church can accommodate two urns. A slate tablet with the name of the deceased person(s), along with their date of birth and date of passing, serves as a respectful marker of the remains of your loved one(s). The Vestry of Christ Church has established the rules and regulations of our Columbarium. Information about these policies and the costs will be provided to you by the Clergy.
