November 2016, Christ Episcopal Church became the first church in Ohio to be internationally certified as a Fairtrade congregation. In line with the Episcopal core belief and commitment to spiritual growth, this action is a direct reflection of sowing love by moving toward more ethical purchases within the church. This past year, Christ Church has continued it’s commitment to purchasing Fairtrade goods, choosing to serve them at our coffee hour and other events as an expression of our values. In 2019, we seek to find more opportunities to incorporate Fairtrade items and education into our parish life. Small changes such as this result in direct, positive impact on farming families and forest areas all over the world.
