The Second Floor re-lamping project is complete, thanks to 145 volunteer hours put in by our Christ Church community. Several ‘60s-vintage fluorescent light fixtures had failed during the Spring, and the Vestry accepted the recommendation to remove and replace all dated fixtures with new LED lighting, and make other improvements as needed to eight rooms on the Second Floor.
The project was organized to be completed during the Summer, while youth programs were on hiatus. After the old fluorescent fixtures were removed, ceiling areas were freshened. Bright, energy-efficient LED fixtures were purchased and installed in eight rooms. Stained carpet was removed from Room 203 (the Nursery) and the vinyl tile there was cleaned and waxed, and new baseboard molding was installed last week. Furniture has been returned to all rooms and clean-up is complete.
Thanks to the volunteers who joined together this Summer to make this project successful – Elizabeth Blackwell, Patty Tatarzycki, Pete Sinnott, Steve Nixon, Judith Wehn, and our Goodwill custodian, Ron. Please show them your appreciation when you see them.
