WOMEN OF THE WORD
WOMEN OF THE WORD
Women of the Word is a yearlong journey we’re taking as a community of faith. We are using A Women’s Lectionary for the Whole Church, an experimental lectionary by The Rev. Wil Gafney, Ph.D. This lectionary inspires our Formation for the 2022-2023 program year.

This Week’s Lessons
The Fifth Sunday in Lent: Isaiah 40:9–11 | Psalm 68:4–11 | Romans 16:1–16 | Matthew 26:6–13
THE AMPLIFIED WORD: A PODCAST FROM CHRIST CHURCH
The Amplified Word is a podcast by Christ Episcopal Church in Dayton, Ohio, to accompany each week’s lessons from the new lectionary, beginning in Advent. Episodes will focus on lifting up the stories, highlighting particular themes or changes that Dr. Gafney makes in her translation, and connecting the readings to our lives. Each episode is preceded by a bonus episode with a reading of the weekly lessons by a female or nonbinary member of the Christ Church community.

Names help us to know one another. Using the variety of names that reflect the whole of God’s being enriches our relationship with God. In this series, facilitated by parishioner Dr. Melissa Shirley, we will explore various ways of referring to God in Scripture, in the Liturgy, and in our personal prayer lives.
